I read the FAQ and read back 3 pages and could not find the answer to this simple question:

After completing a Post-Bacc program and being accepted to med school will you have to go through 4 years of medical school?
Is that the same for Georgetown SMP?

Thanks!!

of course you do. the smp is not equivalent to 1 yr of medschool although you do take classes w GT M1. same with a postbad but the classes are diff and not taken w an med students

seeing classes were taken with med students at georgetown and seeing they take about 20 of the student from SMP into their med program just made me wonder. Thanks!

If you get accepted to Georgetown from the SMP, I think you can opt-out of some of the classes you took in the SMP. Its on the website somewhere.

You do not have to retake the classes that you took while you were completing the GT SMP. However, you must take extra classes or become involved in research to remain a full-time student. Also, you can not shorten your stay at GT SOM.
