Hi Everyone! I am starting to think about planning my fourth year elective rotations. I was wondering if anyone completed rotations that they highly recommend. I definitely want to enhance my dentistry skills and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. For my other 5 electives, I'm open minded to many options. I live in the in the NJ/NY/CT area so it would be nice to complete them near home but I'm more interested in getting the best clinical experience so that is not a must. I appreciate anyones feedback, tips, or advice about this!! Thank you.

If you’re looking for spay/neuter experience, I LOVED the ASPCA spay/neuter alliance in Asheville, NC. A lot of people here have done it as well. I also liked my rotation through Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester, MI. It was basically a nice, laid back GP rotation and you also got to see a lot of cute puppies.

I have no idea if they take students, but I have mad respect for Apex in the Denver area. They have dentistry, derm, and ophtho. Awesome folks tbh.

Lots of dentistry specialists in NJ that would I'm sure love to have you - Dr. Mike Conguista at Garden State Veterinary Services is wonderful to learn from (took a dentistry course with him), and Veterinary Dentistry Specialists in Mount Laurel, NJ, have a fantastic reputation in the area.
