How difficult is it to get a job in Academic Dermatology these days? I would assume that it probably varies based on area.

Also, is there also typically demand for jobs for Dermatlogists based in large teaching hospitals that do not have dermatology residencies? i.e. Newark Beth Israel, Carolinas Medical Center?

Academic jobs typically are not too difficult to obtain. Programs usually have a hard time getting people to give up lucrative private practice for academia. Most new academic faculty members I've spoken with said they had programs heavily recruiting them (programs that didn't even come close to offering them interviews during the residency application process).
