Since when is pediatric cardiac surgery "safe" and "low risk"

I think the point was that stuff didnt start going downhill until those two guys replaced the main guy who had excellent results
 
This is what happens when you take your focus off of what "the most important thing is". The way the article reads to me is that "the mecca" wanted to expand so fast that they took their eye off of what is really important and dismissed the "competent" surgeon for the less competent "academic" surgeon. And thats when things started to suck. Really a shame.
