I really question closing a thread discussing an autopsy on the basis that the poster is soliciting medical advice. The discussion and analysis of a post-mortem can hardly be construed as seeking medical advice.

The user in question had posted the same basic thread in multiple forums (surg, anesth, cardio) and clearly was seeking medical advice. If it were only a path discussion about a post-mortem it would be quite different.

Yes, and the posts were about the same case.
Yet, the details provided were not exactly the same on all posts.
Eg the full autopsy data was only posted on the pathology forum.

What medical advice can you give for a patient who died?
This was clearly posted for discussion about the post-mortem.

In any case, which clause on T&Cs claims medical advice should not be sought? There is a thin line between medical advice and opinions.
But one cannot advise a patient who has died.
Once can only discuss the case!

I agree, that closing the posting was not the best thing to do.
People have a right to post replies and a right to ignore.
Discussion is what makes us all wiser.

There was always an option to close the threads on other forums and leave the one on this forum open.

Hence, the thread should be re-opened.

I PMed you the info on why they were closed.

Is this Dr Mom or Big Brother? A bit Orwellian, are we? Don't we, who participate in these forums have a right to know under what circumstances can freedom of speech be curtailed? What is your evidence that 'seeking medical advice' is Cherrypicker999's intention. I read his posts, and I came to a different conclusion.

Why has Cherrypicker999's posts been removed? You don't the right to deprive other people of his views.

Re-registering after being banned for violation SDN's TOS will just get an automatic re-ban.

I'm sorry that you didn't like our policies here, but I went to great lengths to explain them to you.

The problem is that many people seem to use this forum ostensibly for "medical" advice when they are actually looking for legal advice. The post in question looked to me like someone who was sniffing out a potential lawsuit. It is inappropriate and unwise for anyone to comment on or reply to these posts, I would think.
