Bennington College

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congrats! I got an individual health insurance plan from Fortis when doing my post-bac. The rates weren't too bad and it was a PPO so you could go to whatever doctor you wanted. I got it through my State Farm agent but I am sure you could also buy one over the web.

Awesome. That's the second time today -- and the second time in my life -- I've ever heard of Fortis. Must be some kind of a sign. Thank you!

Does the Bennington program have any linkage programs? I have a phone interview set up w/ them but I am hesitant to commit the cash.

Can you give me any more info on their placement stats?

Hi.

Linkage = no. The word I get is they used to have one, but over time it was perceived as a disadvantage -- to those who didn't want to attend the one school they had linked to. I'm happy that they're concentrating on getting me ready to go anywhere, and their grads have gone on to some excellent places. I grumble about the glide year, but we'll see if I can't do something creative about that.

You're not committing the cash until after the phone interview, anyhow. Ask a lot of questions, and decide later on. I had a really good conversation, and I think my big list o' questions may have helped.

Does anyone here have firsthand experience with Bennington? It would be great to hear from someone who went through their program.

To see if anyone else is interested in, or even accepted to, this program.

(And also to check out my new avatar. Awww, yeah.)

Its the year that transpires between you applying to med school and actually starting class the following year in the fall.

Applying in June 2004 means you dont actually start school till August/Sept 2005. 👍

Oh, and congrats on Bennington to Febrifuge! Its a great program and a beautiful part of the US
