Seems there is also a paperback for $65. Anyone have any suggestions?

Did they really come up with a paperback for the 2nd edition? I have not seen it. I just put in a library recall request.

I would read it at the library and see how much you like it, and then decide whether or not to buy it, and if so, which version.

I also can't believe you're asking! You're a guy - you're supposed to make purchasing decisions more efficiently than I do! 😛

In fact, I should be doing everything more efficiently than you do.

I'm planning on reading this book. Is it worth the $160 or should I just read it at the library?

This is an amazing book in terms of giving you details about the disease process. I used it when I was working on a PhD in pathology. I think it's a great compliment to Robbins.

I can't believe you said this....I'm coming to take away your ovaries. You have betrayed all women. 😡

Men make purchasing decisions more efficently? What is purchasing but shopping by another name? Men don't like to shop (unless they're nancy boys) Men will avoid buying anything unless they have to. Women, on the other hand, are gifted at shopping. I could run anyone into the ground shopping (and have done it) I even have a treo so that I can shop online while I shop at the mall!

Woman, you obviously have never heard of electronics before.

This is like the greatest medical textbook ever, and I am not bull****ting. I am a bit biased though, because I know the authors and have a picture of me with the main author, who was basically one of my prime inspirations and encouragement for going into pathology. I won't help you a ton in terms of the day to day practice of pathology, but there is no better place to learn about the field in general, the concepts being it, the history of pathology, and the people who have made it what it is.

my tv is bigger than your tv 😀

Hush! I was employing the subtle art of reverse stereotyping - and in doing so, exploding the stereotype. We are still essentially in agreement.

If you don't see it or believe me, can I at least keep my boobs? 😉

But I like my men. At least, the kind who fixes my fridge and orders for me in a fancy French restaurant 😉
