A great book:
Skin: A Natural History
by Nina Jablonski
It's on Amazon, and it's the anthropological and evolutionary aspects of Human skin. Really great, and solidified my interest in dermpath as a career.
I don't know if you'd want to fork over the moola for a dermlite, or McKee's new Melanocytic Atlas (Diagnostic Atlas of Melanocytic Pathology). But the best gift IMHO for an aspiring dermpatopathologist would be the coveted Ackerman gold textbook detailing the algorithmic approach to inflammatory skin diseases (Histologic Diagnosis of Inflammatory Skin Diseases: A Method by Pattern Analysis)
