Federal Covid Aid linked to hospital mergers

"Many of these same big chains, shored up by federal grants, are now in better financial shape than they were before the pandemic. Many are sitting on billions of dollars in cash."

So many physicians took pay cuts, and hospitals are sitting on record number of cash piles. Wild times

Any thoughts on how this might affect us in the future?

Covid accelerated this trend of hospital consolidation which will inevitably lead to lower pay across the board for everyone. If you haven’t worked in an area with a single health system without competition you don’t understand how low the bar can go.
