What are the typical qualifications for interns accepted to Derm Clinical Research Fellowships? How successful are these fellows at matching in Derm after working hard, publishing and making presentations at meetings during the fellowship year?
I am especially curious about qualifications and subsequent match rate for the Melanoma fellowship at UCSF.

Sorry, can't give you specifics on what it takes to land a res fellowship. But generally speaking derm PD's rate relevant research experience very highly. So if you've managed to stick som posters/presentations together, or, better yet, published peer-viewed originals, that should definitely increase your chances considerably for getting a residency.

Getting a research fellowship in derm someplace is not too difficult. It may be a low paid position and does not count towards residency. Many fellows do end up getting into an actual residency,I doubt there are exact match rates for this. Its not a guarantee, but if you have a strong application otherwise and are well liked you will have a good shot.
