Do derm programs pay for hotel accomodations/airfare?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't believe the accomodations are paid by the programs (at least not the ones that have contacted me so far).

None of my interviews were. One place "made accommodations" which had us all stoked at the airport until we all got there in a cab together and realized it just meant they had booked us rooms at one of the most expensive hotels in town, tab to be paid by us. Wouldn't be surprised if the PD got some sort of kickback on that one.

Welcome to derm.

Mayo in Rochester and also Texas A&M derm programs pay for 1 night in a hotel.

3 of my 10 programs paid for hotels. No one pays for airfare.

I've never heard of any program, derm or other, pay for airfare. A few programs, particularly those in less desirable locations (i.e. Geisinger, Henry Ford), will provide lodging.

Penn State pays for your hotel and pays for your shuttle to and from the airport and from the hotel to the hospital.

Mayo Rochester and Geisinger both paid for hotels so far. A couple have given 1/2 off.

I think I remember a friend applying for gas telling me they had airfare paid for. Don't quote me on that.

I hear that they also give free showers too...!

So wrong! I went there for undergrad, but I can't be pissed because Penn State gave me a straight up Derm rejection....then a second rejection that I got via email as I was checking my iphone leaving the Penn State prelim interview on the way to the parking garage. :meanie:

U of Missouri paid for hotel for a night...if you stayed with another applicant. 1/2 price if you stayed by yourself, which is what I did. There were a few others that got you 1/2 price or a discount on hotels. Regarding transportation, U of Minn took us to the airport after the interview but otherwise I was totally on my own.

They pay for a night, but didn't they also have a 2-day interview?
