Hi there,

Wanted to know if it's a good idea to start studying for the OATs even though I just started taking my pre-reqs (which could take a while). Not sure if its worth the money to get all the materials for a test I wouldn't be taking for at least a year or two.

If so, what are some great materials to look into and could anyone recommend some audio tutorials as well? That would be awesome!

Thanks so much!

I think you're better off focusing on just learning (and retaining) as much as you can now while you're taking the pre-reqs. If you can remember it from the classes, it'll make studying for the OAT much easier. On the otherhand, if there are 4 years between the class and the test (as in my case) it take much, much more review. Good luck!

Focus on your classes for now. There will be plenty of time to study and review later. Just make sure you learn the stuff the first time and it will be a lot easier later on down the road.

Yeah, you definitely have plenty of time. Although it may vary with you, I put aside less than three months to study (that's with no work or school). As far as study materials, try to get your hands on some Kaplan OAT materials...look for somebody that took the course already. Kaplan has some pretty good review material that's specific enough for what's covered in the OAT, as well as some great strategies to efficiently answer the questions.

Thanks everyone for all your advice. You're awesome! I really appreciate it!
