Can someone recommend a good book for learning EEGs? I am just starting my rotation and need something that will be easy to read and will teach me all the basics. Thanks🙂

I would recommend EEG Pearls by Mark Quigg and published by Mosby.

It's a slim paperback weighing in at just under 300 pages, and costs around $40.

It's a stupendous teaching tool that covers a medical student/junior resident level introduction to EEG testing, a mid-level coverage of the EEG basics, and advanced topics...all done concisely and with lots of pictures.

Primer of EEG is quite good for a beginner, I'm sure these other books are fine as well. Primer is a quick read (100-200 pages) and will get you started, and perhaps even make you sound like you know what you are talking about. Whatever, you do pick out one of these shorter books, read all of it, and then once you have the basics you can start using Atlases to start learning the finer points. Don't be overwhelmed and keep in mind you will be pulling out Atlases forever and asking 'Is that what a Ciganek rhythm looks like...'
