Hi, I am very interested in Rads. But my USMLE score is in mid 220s. My grades are mostly B's with some A's. I come from a mediocre med school. No research yet. I know Rads is very competitive and that's why I'm asking! Any tips would help. Should I apply to other residencies? Thanks for all your help.

NO! There is a range of competitiveness among the programs. You will be more than fine to match.

Similar stats to you. Don't have an honors yet in 3rd year. School is not top notch. I have research but 1) it's not in radiology and 2) there are no accompanying publications. My board score is a bit higher though. All in all, I think it shouldn't be a problem. I was speaking with my academic adviser and I was very shocked at the match %s in radiology. I'm not sure if he skewed the #s or anything but he showed that 95% of people matched in radiology last year (I am almost certain this was on the national level and not with regards to my school's match rate.) Heck, he went on to show me that even OB/GYN's match % rate was lower! (I was shellshocked. Not sure if it's true or if the #s are twisted to reflect this)

Whoa! So, if I have a 218 and 224 on the Steps, and mostly passes in my clinical yrs and HP/P in my pre-clinical yrs from a state med school, I should be able to match?

What programs could I possibly match at?
