From Psych to Neuro

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the time frame if a psychiatry resident finished their psych residency and applied for a neurology residency, how many additional years would it be? Would they still have to go into a PGY-1 position first with an additional 3 years or is it at all shortened?

I think it would depend to some degree on what kind of PGY1 year you did. If yours did not meet the requirements stated by the ABPN, then you would likely have to repeat your intern year.

You would almost definitely have to do all 3 categorical neuro years.
