can someone provide me with the name of a good headache neurologist or neurologist who sees headache for a friend/colleague? They just relocated from DC and have h/o chronic migraine. PM is fine.

Sorry cant provide medical advice on the forums. Will get closed.

I am not looking for medical advice. I am a physician looking for another physician to send a pt to. We do it all the time in the PM&R and Pain forums ("looking for a pain/pm&r doc in ___ to send a pt to"). If you check my history you will see I am not a patient. I am surprised no one here knows someone good in HA in northern NJ.

Yeah, I'm fine with keeping the thread open. I can't really help you, though, as I work in Boston and don't do any outpatient work.

This particular Neuro forum is mostly students and residents. There are a few private practice folks who might know someone...

The purpose and creation of SDN was not to get medical advice or options on where to send patients. Rather for students to discuss the issues related to being a student in a medical profession training program. Please read the TOS.

You are the mod. But there have been other threads closed for lesser reasons. Don't feel this is the place for this type of thread. There are message boards or professional organizations to contact for a referral. Not SDN.

wasn't looking to create an issue, go ahead and delete it if you want, I have not got any pertinent replies anyway.

I will try in the pain forum where these threads are not an issue

I think a balance needs to be struck between threads that directly pertain to the core mission of SDN and threads that may help to bring senior people into the fold and keep them interested.

A practicing neurologist has a lot to offer students and residents, but if every thread is about what book to read for an MS4 neurology rotation and/or whether to rank categorical programs over advanced, then they are not going to stick around.

Some of the healthiest forums on this site, like anesthesia and pain, have a highly variegated collection of threads, ranging from cars to vacation spots to moving tips to clinical questions/advice threads. As a result, there is a large community of practicing physicians there who know each other well, and keep coming back year after year.

I'm not saying we have to be like that, but being open to seeing a few threads here and there that don't directly pertain to your needs would, in my opinion, be constructive to our ecosystem.

I actually read the pain forums quite a bit and appreciate the insight into private practice they provide. I'm going to agree with the benefit to our ecosystem... this forum is pretty dead relative to some of the other forums (like pain). It is nice to not have 3294 threads complaining about CNAs though (like anesthesia), but the topics that come up are usually updates on a theme as typhoonegator says.

Loretta Meuller at UMDNJ
If Northern NJ, can grab a train and go to NYC:
---Mount Sinai Headache Clinic
---Roosevelt Saint Lukes Headache Clinic
---Montefiore Headache Clinic

Small drive to Danville, PA to see Todd Rozen at Geisinger.

That is exactly what I needed. You are the man (or woman?) 🙂
