I will most likely have to drop a course (missed a midterm, completely my fault). It isn't natural sciences related, and I have a perfect 4.0 otherwise. Idk if this means much but I am also in the middle of MCAT prep and am projected to do pretty decent (~515). Is this a red flag? Does a W look better or a C?

Seriously, it won't matter.

Projected MCAT scores are meaningless.

I had at least seven, if that helps. I certainly wouldn't recommend making it a habit, though!
I had 10 or 11! But then again my W's correlated with my experiences, which could all be reasonably pieced together from my application, written materials, nad LOR's.

It has been pointed out before that taking W's to protect the GPA is where the "W(s)" become a concern.

But life happens and you have to respond accordingly, and sometimes that requires taking a W.

I'm more concerned that you said you missed a midterm. Did you take on more courses than you can handle? The last thing you want to do is to repeat a term in medical school. I'd be more concerned about that.
