How did you feel about the board exams?

For all three parts during optometry school. Was one more difficult than the other? And I'm just assuming because I have zero clue, but is part 3 exam more like a lab practical than a written test?
 
in my humble opinion part 1 was hardest and parts 2/3 easier but then again I went to IAUPR so like almost everyone at that school I didn't pass first try (no one there really ever does, takes at least 3 attempts) part 3 is a practical exam and its pretty simple.
 
Looks like the NBEO is now going to limit the number of attempts you can take to pass.

What's worse than a $200K OD school debt?
Not be able to practice as an OD afterwards.

exactly.....so pick a school that fits your needs and has a high pass rate

What's the new limit? I thought it was 10x previously (which seems high)
 
Is the limit based on each part? Ex: 6x for part 1, 6x for part 2, 6x part 3?

Yes, seems like you will get 6x for each part. Details will be rolling out before August 1, 2019.

Part 1 is by far the hardest. The sample questions posted on nbeo website are a bit deceiving as the actual exam tends to have much harder, specific questions. IMHO don’t listen to folks, who took it a while back, claiming “it’s easier than kmk/optoprep made it out to be”, regardless of which school they are from.

Part 2 consists of questions relating to a case presented that involve treatment and management.

Part 3, though not simple, is very straightforward. It’s purely (lab) practical stuff. There are 1000 points total, distributed throughout 4 stations with real (but pretend) patients for you to interact. You will be timed, recorded and scored.
