ok so ive decided that I want to be a dentist, as of right now im doing my associates in science at a local community college I north Carolina that will transfer. im the first in my family to go to college so im really lost on how things work. when I apply for transfer should I apply to go pre dental.... or just stick with a BA in biology ??? I just don't really know how this works

Most colleges do not have an actual major in "pre-dental" (or med, law, etc. for that matter). Usually you just major in whatever, biology if that is where your interests lie. There are pre-req classes required for dental school that you will need to take. If you look at the top of the main pre-dental page, Doc Toothache has an extensive guide with the information you need. Spend some time reading that and understanding the process.

yeah what the other people said any major will do but biology or biochem etc will help with taking your pre-reqs and get you in a similar mindset. also when you transfer make sure the schools you want to apply to will accept some prereq classes at community college. Also at the university you plan on transferring talk to the pre-health adviser they can usually help you out. you have to take your DATs preferably before you apply. there is a ton of stuff online as well. also the university you plan on transferring too should have a predental society that should help if its active. you can talk to people who have been through it etc. good luck

Study whatever your interested in. As long as you get your prereqs, and a solid GPA you have what you need for dents
