Ugh I am about to get a D in Calculus for this first quarter and I seriously feel so stupid. I do all the homework and stuff but I failed one test (two questions were worth 60% of the test, got both of these wrong) and now my grade is down. Personally I don't care because I'm accepted, but I feel so stupid, this is the first D i have ever gotten, and also my parents are going to kill me. My dumb teacher won't give me extra credit or anything dammit. It is stupid because I have A's in every other class and stupid PTC's are next week (the two days before my b-day) So i guess i'm screwed, wish me luck, maybe I can get it up to a D+ or C-

Man don't give up just like that.

My experience from college has taught me that the grades you get is equal to the amount of exam preparation you put in. Its not that your stupid, its that you didn't understand the material or you didn't put in enough time for the material to "click". Repetition, more practice problems....

One bad test is not a referendum on your intelligence. If you're already accepted, you're golden. Take a few deep breaths and realize no one is going to kill you, and your life is not derailing.

Moving to the Pre-Medical Allopathic forum since this is not a high school topic.

actually I think this is a high school topic. OP is a high school senior, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, I'm a senior, don't know why you moved it lol. But anyway thanks guys, but I feel that this is how I am going to perform in college. Doing well only in classes I like or feel that are more important to me. And well, my parents are going to yell at me for like 6 hours, and then I won't be able to do anyything until the next quarter is over. O well, I guess I can accept it.

Yeah, definitely no parent-teacher conferences in college. 🙂

You need to go talk with your teacher, and not about extra credit--about the material. If you're getting a D in calculus, you probably don't understand what's going on. If you did, you wouldn't be having so much trouble on the exams. Good luck!

Right now I'm eating my anxiety away, so I guess by the time I get to med school I will obese. 🙂

Workout instead of eat!!!
How can I work out when it is 40 degrees outside!?

I don't have any nice gym equipment at my house either lol. But I start indoor soccer soon. Can't wait until I get to college, huge gym with tons of equipment and classes, and sports.

You'll be alright. Don't sweat it. You seem like a pretty smart dude. I'm sure you can change it around by your last report card.
