I have a question about intern schedule and I know a lot will be program specific but do you work 6 days a week every month?

tell me, as a med student, did you notice there was a difference to the schedule on your outpt months?

did you ever have months where you got golden weekends?

did golden weekends never get mentioned on the interview trail?

did you not question or read about schedules on SDN as part of educating yourself about different residencies?

did you not notice that most outpt clinics are closed Saturday and Sunday?

Programs that NEVER have 2 days off in a row are pretty rare, although I do have a friend at one.

They're not "rare" so much as they are surgery programs.

I'd plan on working 6 days a week on all floor rotations and 5 days a week on electives

My intern year (prelim med) we had one day off a week, on a weekday only (upper levels got one weekend day off) when we were on floor months.

However, I had 5 or 6 months of electives where I had pretty much every weekend off, so I'm not complaining at all.
