I'm leaving my medicine residency and starting another residency in July. Thinking about jumping ship soon and wondering if anyone knows what the best way to find a job to make ends meet is. Just looking for a way to make some money over the next 6 months-not picky.

By the way I'm PGY-2 and licensed in my current state.

You must have pretty strong reasons to leave. Otherwise, the obvious thing to do would be to stay in your current program.

May I ask, is this a case of being "fired" from the program because you said you were leaving?

Fired? I doubt that. He/she probably just doesn't like the program or doing IM.

1. Not even close to fired.

2. Have secured a position in a competetive program starting July 1.

3. Why is it obvious I should stay in my current program? The reason I'm switching fields is the fact that I'm completely miserable in my current program.

4. If you don't have any tips on how to find a job I'm not sure why your responding.

Can you moonlight in a small town ER since you have a license? Small towns always seem desperate for physicians to staff their ERs in my experience.
