I searched the forum and surprisingly could not find a thread dealing with this; my apologies if I missed one.

From what I can see, there is one last chance to grandfather in to the ABPN Neuromuscular Boards for 2012. Is this correct?

Has anyone taken this exam? Is there any advice you could offer about how to prepare for it?

Two books I have seen mentioned are:

http://www.amazon.com/Neuromuscular...6129/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313357418&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Neuromuscular...3720/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1313357418&sr=8-3

Any recommendations?

ABPN has the content outline for Neuromuscular boards which is best for starters, I suppose.
For the EMG part a Dr London has an EMG guideline book online for residents which perhaps can also be used as an outline.

what are the top residencies/fellowships for neuromuscular?

is neuromuscular same as EMG boards? I was planning to take the EMG boards as a physaiatrist after few years in practice, didn't know that it wasn't going to be an option.

EMG boards are not the same as Neuromuscular . The former is mainly procedure based while the latter and may include some EMG training . It is a fairly newly recognised specialty. Both fields overlap significantly. AANEM certifies EMG while ABPN certifies Neuromuscular .
