ps. anyone else who has been accepted finding it extremely hard to find the motivation to study for exams?lol

where do you live? that'll factor into your decision for sure

Hey Mucci... just wondering how were your stats?
GPA? OAT scores?

he smiled and flashed his good looks......

tip-= where a nice tie🙂

Wish i could help ya out mucci.. but not familar with those schools. I have NECO interview in jan.

But i definitely feel your dilemma! I've been accepted to both Indiana and NOVA and I am completely torn😕 Both seem like outstanding schools.. Indiana is closer to home, but NOVA has soo many pros as well!
Any suggestions from any one?? About curriculum or anything... itd be greatly appreciated !!

Okay everyone, listen up. You need to sit down and analyze which of your options is the cheapest (tuition, living expenses, etc) and GO THERE! You'll thank me in four years.

lol .... ya the 'power tie' is what sealed the deal...hahaha

Ummm well for rozats - I would say you have to choose between warm weather or living close to home .. I would rather stay close to home personally in case anything were to happen .... also I have been given the advice to trust my gut feeling ...

eyestrain ... obviously the money is of huge concern .... but seeing that you are already an O.D. did you have a hard time paying off your schooling (or are still having a hard time)? Can I ask which institution you attended?

Well, I've been making payments for all of 2 months, but I can say I wish I had sat down and figured out which school would have been cheapest. I went to IU, but was accepted at a couple others. Maybe IU was the cheapest, I don't really know. I'm not having problems making the payments, but I sure as hell would love it if they were smaller.

The other problem you newer students have is interest rates. My loans will be locked in at 3.25% after I make the first 30 payments. Your's probably won't and those higher interest rates could be a killer. That makes it even more crucial to go to the cheapest option.

Ya I hear ya ... my brother in law deals with investments and is looking into some plans for me right now ... I actually got an invite to interview at IU ... but since I got into these three schools I don't know if i should even bother going? What made you choose IU over the others?

Mostly location. It was the closest school to home that wasn't in downtown Chicago. I was also accepted to Pacific and ICO for what it's worth.

Honestly, it depends on the way you think. Either be close to home for family reasons, or somewhere with lots of pros is a hard decision, but I would most definately not base it on just money. I would rather be in deeper debt to spend four years somewhere I would rather enjoy then stay somewhere thats cheaper, yet less pleasant. You only have one life! (well atleast I believe we do)

There will be fun stuff to do no matter where you end up going to school. Be careful with that "you only have one life" argument. I agree that you should make the most of it, but remember, you'll spend 4 years in optometry school and 30 years paying it off.

thanks guys! I am leaning more towards the closer to home idea as well. I still have chicago interview this thursday.. but am unsure about living in the chicago area.. so right now its Indiana for me.

Where are you from eyestrain if you don't mind me asking?
