applied to over 20 prelim surg, and 5 prelim med locally, no IVs? Had rads IVs, what should I do?

Surgery will come later. Some don't require you to be in person. Also if you're happy doing surgery, you can forego interviews and scramble into any of the many open spots in your region of interest.

thanks, i realized that i don't have a chairman letter from surgery, i did medicine subi and have a chairman letter from medicine. would that be a problem? i had one recommendation letter from a surgeon though

I highly recommend emailing the program directors at the prelim surgery programs you're most interested, just so your application doesn't go unnoticed. A lot of them don't look at the prelims until later
