I doubt it. A nuclear medicine residency would not really provide you with the background in diagnostic radiology required for an IR fellowship.

Even one year of IR fellowship in addition to 4 years of DR is felt to be not enough for a comprehensive IR practice. Answer: No, you can't.

There's a poster on these boards that just finished fellowship and has felt tremendously prepared - he's doing TIPS, TACE and TARE, some PV work, etc. For most programs, though, your assessment is accurate.
