I am currently a pre-med and I am looking into various specialties. I have been volunteering at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta (center for brain and spinal injuries) in an ambulatory research program. I am enjoying it so much that I think spinal injuries is something I could pursue as a physician. I was recently looking for applicable specialties when I came across Physical Medicine. I think you can further specialize is spinal chord injuries as well. Does anybody know about this? How competetive is it to obtain a residency spot? Is this residency open to DO's? Would ortho be better? Any info will be appreciated! 🙂
