Has anyone gone on pre-interview dinners? What is the proper attire and what is the most appropriate way of handling the check?

is anyone else going to be forced to missed some of these? i hope im not screwing myself by not going. my schedule, and money is tight, and if i were to go to all of these i would have to make a couple flights to the same city/area etc, which is really difficult for me....

Interview dinners are an excellent opportunity to learn the inner workings of the residency program in a more relaxed environment. I gained more information about the program and whether I was interested from these dinners than from the interviews themselves.
