So I'm starting on a novel treatment approach project that has never been tried before as a fellow this year at bench science lab involving clinical trials for patients with skin cancer (cell culturing basically and reinfusion back to the patient)...I basically also would LOVE to write a paper based on the data and results I get for this novel approach-not a problem...but since I am here for a year, I was wondering if
a. there is a particular # of patients you need to qualify to write up a paper for a prospective study? (I guess it sucks im here for a limited time of 1 year so I'm guessing perhaps 5-6 patients and optimistically 9 would get treated with the cells we culture in lab)
b.are there journals that you have in mind that are interested in such initial, but limited, clinical trial studies (im guessing investigative dermatology)?
Basically, I would like to devise a publication approach that is geared toward the work I do and I'd love to hear your advice.
Thanks!
