at my summer rotation here, and going crazy trying to figure out whether ethanol is an autoinducer of CYP2E1!! I have found source after source explaining that ethanol induces 2E1, and since it is also metabolized by 2E1, and its inductive effects persist after it has been cleared, I would love to conclude that it is, in fact, an autoinducer.
My problem right now is finding a credible source to reference that explicitly defines ethanol as an autoinducer. Any suggestions?
