Represent your Pod School!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm not sure if you can guess from my avator, I'll give you another hint. I'll see Rob and Jon at the CPMS Research Day.

DMU I see you 3 at research day.

There better be enough food to go around. By the way, is SCACFAS paying for it all or is IPMSA or CPMS donating some funds? Because you know, after what ACFAOM did to SCACFAS's account. Those dirty rotten scoundrals!

We are waiting to hear about the CAB grant. Either way CPMS and SCACFAS are sharing the bill

I am proud to say that I will be starting my podiatric education at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine this August.

Undergrad is all good and nice but let's give a little love to our pod schools. I see all of your usernames but often have no idea where you all are going to school.

DMU

Hey,

Although I have only seen this school one time, you know what I am going to represent. DMU is also a great school too.

I will be starting at DMU in the fall and am very excited about it. Can you guys elaborate on what happens at research day?

I'll take this one. SCACFAS, which is CPMS's Student Chapter of the American Foot and Ankle Surgeons, is sponsoring the first annual CPMS Research Day. This year’s format will be different the next years. This year we are just having all of the students that have research projects present a short summary of their projects. Next year, the day will be more of a competition/reward for the year’s best research projects. There will be fewer presenters but more info.

The best part is free lunch.

It is part the schools goal to become more visibly active in pod research. CPMS has great board scores but has not been as active as I would like us to be and Dr. Yoho seems to agree w/ me. So we are also expanding SCACFAS next year into a sub-club that will be the CPMS Research club.

Make sure you join both next year 😀

TUSPM class of 2010! (maybe)

Have you been accepted or are you waiting to hear?

I have been accepted to TUSPM class of 2010 but i might choose the D.O. path. still in the process.

Picking the school was tough. Scholl and DMU were definite contenders, but AZPOD had the right elements for me. I'm looking forward to happily melting on my textbooks this fall. 🙂

OCPM, was class of 2009 but took a year off and now 2010

SCPM.

A foot. It's more than just 12 inches to us.

I don't think anyone else from BU posts here. Maybe South Beach takes too much free time from some of the students.

Very excited about attending OCPM this fall. 😀

i'm curious- how do the girls in pod school look??

Some classes are better looking than others. Over all we do not have too many ugly people at NYCPM.

There are a few HOT people guys and girls (I am not included in that). But most are just average good looking people.

And I am glad that you trust my grandma.

That is different. So what is scope? I wonder if they have the same rights and privledges as DPMs?

Now there is something you don't see every day! A bachelors degree in podiatry. That is pretty cool.
I guess I'd have it by now with my bachelors. You know it would save alot of time and money though. 🙂 Skip the 8 years and get it in half the time. I'm ALL for it. 👍

If it's anything like the UK, they don't do surgery. We had a student do a month with an infectious disease doc in England during his 4th year a few years back. He said that there, podiatry was a bachelors or masters degree and they did no surgery. I'm not sure if it's the same thing in Aussy. According to their website, it seems similar.

By the end of our 4 year Bachelors, there's going to be a Master of Surgery available...

It'll be an extra 3 years

It's not on the site, cos its still brand new but its going to be organised soon apparently!

I'm finding it hard to understand... isnt Scholl a company that makes shoe products?? How is that a school?? :S

When you give a school a lot of money, they will change their name to whatever you want!!!

I heard that in australia pods could not prescribe meds - is that true? are there restrictions?

one of the profs at NYCPM used to practice pod in australia - he told us this info.
