Hi --

First of all, I just want to say I did a search before starting a new thread on this inquiry.

In anticipation of next month's match, and even worse, the possibility of not matching - I just wanted to know how someone identifies the programs that have unfilled spots. After reading the posts, Im pretty familiar with the scramble process - but, I just want to make sure I have up-to-date information on positions available.

By way of background, I intend on ranking 7 programs of the 9 I interviewed for in General Surgery.

Thanks

From what i understand...its posted on the NRMP website on Monday before match day. If you log onto your NRMP account now you will see an icon on the left that says "unfilled programs" On the monday before match day you can see what programs went unfilled in the match by clicking on this link. Hope this helps.

Helps indeed. I guess I'll just wait and see.

Thanks for the response.

Yup, the information should be available through the NRMP website and through your dean's office. If you don't match, your dean's office should contact you ASAP and they will get you organized and help you with the scramble (making phone calls, faxing CV's, etc). I've heard that it's like a battle-zone command center in the dean's office during the scramble period.
