St Mary's Prelim in San Francisco

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I rotated there as a med student. The prelim residents were all superstars (i.e. rads at UCSF) so that in and of itself shows you that it's an extremely cushy intern year. From what i remember, they came in for checkout from the oncall team around 7, then they rounded individually on their patients. No formal rounds, just teaching cases/lecture for an hour before lunch. There was always some sort of presentation with free lunch, then the residents would go do work rounds until like 4 when long call took over until 8. I'm pretty sure that's when night float came in. From what I heard, the residents were really happy with their workload, although i have to say that the teaching there wasn't superb.

hope that helps!
