Hi,
I just wanted to ask if you need to pass USMLE step 3 to be eligible to start PGY-2 (Ophthalmology) or you can take it even during your PGY2 year? Does this vary from state to state? If yes what's the case in NY? Thanks.

It's usually program-dependent. Check with your residency program to see if they have a deadline.
