So I am seriously considering neuro programs in Chicago but am worried that Rush, Northwestern, and UofC are pretty competitive while Loyola is sometimes considered lower tier and UIC is somewhere in between (based on things I've read on this forum of course, which is taken with a grain of salt)

So I'd like to go to Chicago, but I also want to go to a good program. My Step1 score is above 245, I got AOA, I'm involved w/ my local SIGN chapter, but have NO research and am struggling to get any before it's too late (which might not be possible).

Are places like Rush, NW, and UofC in my grasp w/ no research but good scores?
I know you guys get sick of threads like this, but any thoughts are appreciated!

I know zero about Chicago and cannot speak with real authority about any of the programs there, but with a Step 1 of 245, AOA, and anything resembling a normal personality you should be fine. I cannot imagine otherwise.

Those programs you listed are good, but you shouldn't be too worried about their competitiveness. You will be strongly considered there (and almost anywhere) with your USMLE and AOA status. Try to get involved in some sort of research project so that you have something to talk about, even if you don't have any publications.
