Hi! Welcome to your UCBX pep talk! If you're like me, you're midway through your biochem course thinking "HM, I wonder what I should expect for the final..." So you turn to google or SDN, and what you find might hit your stomach like a sack of bricks. For me, this was real, mind consuming fear...
So I just graduated from a 4-year university with a 3.75 GPA and a B.S. in psychology. I have recently found an interest in dentistry and was looking to take all the science prerequisite classes at a community college. That being said, will taking those classes at a community college be...
Hey guys! I'm applying this upcoming cycle and looking to take Animal Nutrition for NCSU's prereq requirements. I was wondering if anyone had advice on which school to the take the course online through (and cheapest?). I've heard good things about Purdue, but also seems to be on the pricier...
So I didn't see a thread like this in the search, I figured it would be useful to have a thread where everyone can post their advice, experiences, tips, do's and don'ts for finding veterinary experience and animal experience. I know that personally, I came into this vet-med thing a bit late...
Soooo I am currently enrolled in Animal Nutrition through OkState. I intended to complete it as part of my UF prerequisite coursework, but they rejected me during this cycle. Since I have not sent in the first assignment yet, I can still get a refund for the course and get my money back. I just...
I am currently practicing to take my DAT and apply this 2017 cycle. I have all the pre-requisites but am thinking about anatomy. I had taken anatomy at a community college while I attended a university because of the course load. I had been told that I only needed the fulfill the prerequisite...
Hey guys!
I'm sorry if this is an obvious question but I'm honestly not sure. I took some prerequisite classes during high school such as college algebra (MATH 1320) and Elementary Chemistry (CHEM 1090). I also took a statistics course under the department of research and measurement -...
Hello!
I looked around the forums and found a couple threads with really great information regarding the status of taking Physical Chemistry to fulfill the chemistry requirement. I am, however, in a really weird spot and would like some advice.
Little notes:
1) I received AP credit for General...
I'm a pre-dental student here at CSULB and I plan on applying to USC's Ostrow School of Dentistry in the near future. One of the required prerequisites is 1 year of General Biology but my school offers only 1 semester of General Biology. I contacted their admissions office and they advised that...
Hello all,
As you see my account, I tried to go into optometry school few years ago (about 5 years ago?). Due to family/financial issue, I had to pause my dream for a while.
I have been working right after I took my first/last OAT. Some stuffs happened during the time I was studying for OAT so...
Hi everybody,
I will be applying to OVC this coming fall, and I know that it is required to take prerequisites during a full course load (i.e. 5 courses). My only question is, has anyone gotten in with taking prerequisites during a 4-course semester?
Thanks.
Hey Guys,
So I to took all of my science pre-requisite at a university. However, I took organic chem lab at a CC because the university organic chem lab was all filled up and I wanted to graduate on time. Do you think Tufts will accept this 3 credit lab or would they make me retake it at the...
Hello
So Dental schools require Biology as a prerequisite, General Biology 1 and 2 usually fill this pre-requisite.
Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 DO NOT FULFILL BIOLOGY REQUIREMENT 1 AND 2 at all dental schools.
I will add more later, like which schools do not accept AP 1 and 2 as a BIO...
Question 1:
So I took psychology back in my freshman year when I didn't take things seriously and got a "no pass." I've since retaken it (~9 years later) and received an A. Will the "no pass" be considered my first try even though it wasn't a letter grade option? I also have an A in abnormal...
So I am currently a rising junior, biomedical engineering major, who plans to take the MCAT at the end of my junior year.
I have already taken gen chem 1 and 2, physics 1 and 2, bio 1, orgo 1, & 2 physiology classes. I plan on taking biochemistry in the fall. Basically I haven't taken orgo 2...
Hi all,
I graduated college about a week ago, and have thereafter entered into a state of life crisis that I am hoping to get out of with some help.
-------
When I entered college at Duke University, I came in with the expectation of fulfilling a pre-med course load; however, the pre-med...
Read the prior threads...still looking for some input. I'm an active Army Officer working as an Executive Officer (Roughly 60 to 70 hours a week...maybe more but I don't want to overestimate...deployed once...ramping up for Afghanistan deployment currently) and there is no way possible I can...
Hi everyone!
Recently I found out that some medical schools require pre-requisite courses to be taken within five years and other schools are open to older courses but like to see recent coursework.
I graduated in 2013 and have been working as a clinical research coordinator for the past two...

When I was in college, I have taken pre-med courses such as 2 semesters of Gen Biology, Gen Physics, Gen Chemistry (from community college), English, and Math. I have also taken Cellular Biology as well. The only class I was not able to take was 2 semesters of Organic Chemistry due to time...
Hi everyone!
I am currently calling schools to obtain school specific information but
1. did anyone encounter pre-requisite "expiration dates"?
Ex. courses must be completed 10 years from matriculation to medical school.
I took my pre-reqs in 2009-2013 and I am applying in 2017.

Alright gentleman,
Got a dilemma. Signing up for organic chem...only problem is my university has two. One set for Biology majors and another more in-depth for Chemistry majors. Which one do I take? If the chemistry major one isn't required for MD schools then I would like to take the one for...
So, I see a lot of schools require Microbiology, however, how do I know if a lower level introduction to Microbiology will meet the requirements. Does anyone have a list of schools that will take a 2000 level microbiology course?
Hello everyone!
I am wondering if anyone has taken Orgo 2 online through the University of New England. What would you suggest or recommend as preparation for the exams and labs?
Thanks!
Hello all,
Here's my background: I graduated with a Pharm.D., received 1 year of post-grad training (PGY1), and have been working as a clinical pharmacist for about 1.5 years. I'm seriously considering applying for medical school and have been studying for the MCAT in preparation to apply this...
I want to apply to DO schools and found out some required behavioral science courses.
I took intro to psychology as a freshman but this only suffices for 3 credit hours and some needed 6 credit hours. I already graduated with my biochemistry degree. Can I take the necessary pre-req course from...
Background: Appreciate any and all advice. I'm finishing up my bachelor's in a non-science major this Spring so I'm taking a year to finish pre-requisites and get some additional ECs. I'm going to take classes in all 3 summer, fall and spring semesters, but I'm also going to take the MCAT after...
Ok, so I have been searching everywhere for an answer to this and have not been able to find a solid answer. I am a dual credit student, and by the time I graduate high school I should have roughly 85 credits completed with roughly 65 credits remaining. The local community college has told me...
I have my bachelor's in nursing so I literally have to take every science class.
It just seems like the community college close to me, although has a good reputation, doesn't offer enough classes/the right classes. There is no general biology offered this semester or next semester.
Help!
Has this only been my experience, or is the admissions office at Baylor completely useless for anything other than reviewing applications? I've called and emailed them and they seem completely incapable/unwilling to provide any information at all to me about prerequisite coursework. All I want...
Greetings fellow members!
I write to you as a concerned Junior about one of my courses and its effect on my GPA. As of now, I have a cumulative GPA of 3.99-4.00. I have worked diligently to maintain this standard but I feel that I may be in trouble with one of college requisites: Ethics. My...
Hi everyone, so basically I am a junior at a medium size private research university in the northeast. I have a really difficult decision to make and I need to make it soon and I was hoping I could get some advice from all of you.
So basically I am currently a nursing student (I just...
Hey Everyone! Hope you're all enjoying the weekend (if you can).
So a little bit of introduction: I'm a post-baccalaureate student (not in a post-bacc program) with two bachelor's degrees in English Literature and Philosophy. In the year after graduating, I had a lot of time to think about what...
Hello all.
I just wanted to get some feedback from the forums. I am a longtime lurker, and just decided to post now.
I recently graduated with an Architectural Engineering degree. My cumulative gpa was just a hair over a 3.0. Recently events in my life have made me realize that I really want...
I wish I had found this a few months ago. Samuel Merritt posts a great list of reliable distance learning (online) college classes to meet their requirements... and the classes will likely meet requirements of other universities as well.
Just thought I'd share :-)...
