I voted for two months. I assume that during interview season Andy and Yaah will be very busy -- also Deschutes and Bananaface 😉

Hmmm, maybe I should have voted for two weeks!

Two weeks, natch.. all of us rising 2006ers will be pushing the button and giving vent to our anxieties in less than a week! W00t!

Didn't we overtake the EM forum rather quickly, like in a few days. I remember being like 800 behind them and then just blowing past.

Wow, a thousand posts a week! About 150 posts a day! Woohoo!

I'll be here. My daily efficiency will be greatly improved by the presence of a car - plus I hope to be independent of any external WiFi later in the year.

Yeah, but general residency has picked up a lot lately. There have been like 3 new threads a day ALONE on the topic of ERAS, and it is only going to get worse. I don't think we will catch gen res at all. I think it's already impressive that this forum has the most posts - gen res doesn't count because it isn't a specific field.

Yaah, you call yourself a moderator? What happened to the yaah of old, leading us proudly to victory as we battled the EM Forum and Surgery? I think an intervention may be necessary. We CAN create new and asinine threads. WE don't have call or patients to weigh us down! We are PATH and we are going to kick the heinies of General Residency! 😀

This was bound to happen. As people mature (age 😛 ) they lose their drive and their gumption. Only one other thing can cause such cynacism -- Yaah are you romantically involved? Those are the only two explanations that I can come up with!

Yup. I truly will be busy. I'm headed towards a long stretch of surg path until my vacation in November.

Failure is not an option (see above).

As of NOW this forum is 2,225 posts behind general residency issues.

When will the path forum become "Big Daddy" and have the more posts than all of the other graduate medical subforums?
Now, path is about 1900 posts behind. It'll be 2 months at this rate.

I just think it's hilarious that residents in this field have so much time to post.

One day everyone else will start figuring it out

Shh...it's a secret. Pathology sucks, you don't want to go into it, we work a billion hours a week. (Waves finger) This isn't the residency you are looking for

Three separate people this week have told me that I was "lucky" to be going into pathology.

I hoped you used your jedi mind tricks to convince them otherwise. Think of the paradise we can create for ourselves! 😀

I'm doing my best to keep the secret under wraps, but I admit it is difficult. It's hard to hide my rosy, well-rested appearance, the coffee in one hand and the donut in the other, and the headphones of my ipod in my ears when strolling into the hospital at 8 am. Not to mention that when answering pages at 11 pm, I need that new technology for cell phones that creates phony background noise (perhaps the beeping of an IV machine?), to hide the fact that I am sitting on my couch reading a magazine and eating chocolate while telling the ICU intern that "No, we don't do FNAs on the weekends." 😀

Not having to stroll into the hospital until 8 am ... priceless
Coming into work without a tie ... priceless
Going out and drinking after work and still making it home (by some miracle) realizing that you'll get 7 hours of sleep ... priceless
Not having to wear a white coat stuffed with papers and a stethoscope ... priceless
Not having to sit in a clinic having to listen to patients bitch about their f*cking problems ... priceless

I agree.

Petition to eliminate post counts:

1. yaah
2. Andy
Word up. Hopefully serious threads won't get derailed with stupid posts especially since application season is in full swing and this year's applicants will have lots of good pathology-related questions.

I can zero your post count if you want 😛
