hey guys!!

does anyone know or have witnessed GI's doing colonoscopies/endoscopies while sitting down instead of standing up.........its a very long story....but i need to know the answer to this question very soon.....thank you!!

do you think that this is a significant enough thing that i should decide not to chose that as a career because of this?? this is very important to me.......i really like the field, but i have a lot of pain when i stand for more than five minutes....what do you think? can i arrange it, can i get through fellowship like this??

How do you expect to get through medical school rotations and residency programs in you can't stand for very long. For most of the day you will be standing the whole time. What about trying to get through surgeries that last all day?

i already finished medical school....already did my internship in medicine....now im deciding on fellowships.....if i can do GI with scoping sitting down...then it could work, if not...ill have to pick something more sedentary....🙂.....any advice?

yes...I worked with a surgeon who did all of his scopes sitting down. I'm not sure if there was a medical reason for it per se, or just a personal preference.
