Interview Dates?

When are interviews usually conducted for neurology residencies?

I would have found this helpful before interview season too. I am scheduled for the second half of November through the last week of January. A few programs have offered dates in late October or early February. If I were to schedule my 4th year again, I would have blocked off December and January, and tried to get as much of November off as possible.

I had wrongly assumed that I would get more interviews in october but I was wrong and now I am talking off about 9 days from my present 4 week rotation. The bad part is that it is at the program I want to rank number 1!

My first interview is November 5th and I submitted my apps early September.

Are they going to give you credit after taking 9 days off? That sounds like pretty bad form to do so (especially at your number 1). Heheh, and I was feeling guilty about taking 4 days off (one of those interviews will be a the site I'll rotate at, and I'm planning to come in on weekends to make up for lost time). 😳

I would grab November and December off since you can couple this with the winter holiday pretty easily.

I have a few interviews in January. However my top choices are pretty heavily concentrated in November and the first half of December.

I have 6 interviews before the 10th of November and have yet to see a program that only does late December and January. In my limited experience 90%+ of programs have dates in November.

Of course candidates might get January or maybe even February interviews as others start to cancel their late interviews. However it's tough to bank on those and I'm not sure how highly programs view a candidate that didn't receive an initial interview.
