I got it yesterday along with a whole slew of rejections bringing the total carnage to 27 rejects.

I did get an invite though yesterday so it made it all tolerable. One a day for the next two weeks. I'm not asking for much. 😀

anyone else having trouble remembering where they applied and where they have received rejections from at this point??? I seem to only remember the rejections at places I really cared about (you know... the ones that sting...).
 
Does anybody have a compiled list of programs that still remain? I think there are 38 left, right? (and that includes puerto rico!)

i was also wondering the same thing...I have heard of a second round of invites in other specialties (such as optho) that happen if the first batch of people all aren't able to interview...does anyone know if this happens in derm too?

I believe so. I called one of the schools today and they told me they were waiting to send out regrets until they heard from the people they invited to interview about whether they would be able to interview or not, and that they would send invites to the "backups." So since a great deal of the derm interviews are in late Dec/January, many people may not be able to go to all of the ones they were invited, and the "back ups" will be invited. Also, quite a few of the schools I called said they were still reviewing and/or still waiting to send out invites.

I think you're all right. I know I have gotten at least one interview in a 'second round.' And I know my home program has only sent out one round of invites because half of the faculty reviewing apps haven't gotten back to the program coordinator. Don't lose hope yet.

But this brings up an interesting question...Is it worth contacting the programs that have made offers to others to see if you can get some answer out of them? I don't wanna be a pain, but I want to show at least a couple of programs that I'm particularly interested.

I've noticed that all of the programs that I've gotten interviews from are programs that I heard from during Round 1. All the rest have been rejections. I haven't gotten a Round 2 interview yet. Makes me wonder if those will end up as more rejections. :scared:

Does anyone know how many people Miami interviews?? Also how many seats are they up to this year?? Thanks
 
Does anybody know what happens if you miss an interview because your flight gets canceled or weather keeps you trapped somewhere? Do they offer you a chance to meet with people still, or are you SOL?

Regarding missing the interview, I think it depends. If your flight get cancelled, you might be SOL.

If weather traps you somewhere, there's probably a chance it traps other people and you might have some options in that scenario.
