Hi All,

Ugh. So I was going to go to Columbia starting this summer, but I just graduated from USC (today!), and am not ready to move back to NYC in the next couple of days. That being said, does anybody know anything about the USC post-bac? Has anyone here completed it? I just graduated from USC, and it's an amazing institution, but I don't know so much about the post-bac. Please! Any info would be helpful!

Thanks so much ya'll!

Well I just finished the USC post bac program and am now applying to med schools. For me the program was great, I found lots of support from faculty, and they hold many informal meetings where all post bacs (some past and present) can get together to share advice. At this point I can't say that it helped me get into school yet, but hopefully that will work itself out soon. If you have any specific questions go ahead and post I'll check soon. Gook luck.

Hi,

Thanks for replying! Ok, I just have a couple more q's.

Do you know any people in the past that have gotten into strong med school programs after completing SC's post-bac? I'd really like to go to USC Keck, and I have a really good rec here as I've worked for the chair of the cell and neurobiology lab at Keck for three years.

I'm a little worried about applying to the program. I have a 3.1 GPA in pretty much all humanities courses, and I know they generally accept 3.2 and up. However, I did get into Columbia's program, so I'm hoping it'll be ok. Do you know anyone who applied and got in with less than 3.2?

Oh, and how long did the program take for you? I'd like to do it in 15 months so I can apply next year.

Thanks again for replying! 😀
