When is SDNPath going to meet up?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

That's not making sense. If she is your roommate, isn't her home, your home?
Her home is my home. I am at the guy's place, which is why I'm swiping my friend's computer for awhile. My roomate went home since she has to work at 10 tomorrow.

Quick! Check what type of naughty stuff he has in his internet history!

Guys 🙄 Is that all they ever think about? And why are you coming here for recommendations?

I should have known I was on the wrong site, there's almost no pictures here. Alas, my $19.95 a month is going to waste this evening.

Alrighty, I'm headed home. I have to figure out what CD7 against IgG2a and TdT positivity is supposed to represent, and I'm not going to be able to do that tonight.

Was going to go grocery shopping on the way home - guess it's too late for that now.

~
And yes, randomness aside, I'm STILL interested in a meet-up. 👍

I don't think one can necessarily refer "USCAP" from a typo like "ASCAP" especially because there is also ASCP, which is actually almost a more appropriate inference of "ASCAP" than USCAP is.

😛

During my year and two months of residency, I have never been at the hospital between midnight and 5am.

Meetups are fun.
At the very least some mini-meetups will be in order as we nOObs come round for our interviews over the next few months.. I for one look forward to it. 🙂

Me, too 🙂 Perhaps we should have an "interview schedule" thread once all the interview invites start coming in. I think I'm going to apply to Boston programs just so I can meet up with Andy! Same goes for Michigan and our beloved yaah, and isn't Ms. deschutes in Minnesota somewhere??

Well if you folks are headed out this way on your interview trail, feel free to give me a shout.

Minneapolis-"heaven on earth"-St. Paul, to be precise 🙂

Let me know when you guys are coming in. I can show off my kewl new car!

I like the fact that Brian un-capitalized "deschutes" 😉

It was extenuating circumstances unrelated to service duties 🙂 I have no Powerpoint, questionable Internet and no printer at home. Plus, I now have a car so it was easier to just come in.

And like I said, I prefer to spend the daylight hours enjoying myself. 😎

I meant pictures of the car, not of you driving it. :þ
But you could just as (if not more) easily go to Image Google and type in "Toyota Matrix" and get pictures in any colour you want and any size you want 😛

My name is Fedor and I approve this thread!

I heard the meeting is in Atlanta, where the players play.

Yes it is - nothing against Atlanta, but I'm not going to be there 🙂 I'm beginning to wonder if many of us are. Probably those who aren't posting!

The next candidates for a meet would be:

The IAP International Centennial Congress 2006
Montréal, Québec, Canada
September 16 - 21, 2006

(The IAP is the International Association of Pathology, of which USCAP is a member and will be playing host. Montréal is an awesome choice. Better - and cheaper - food than Paris as far as I'm concerned.).

- or -

USCAP 2007
Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, CA
March 24 - 30, 2007

Please let the record show that fedor has graciously agreed to provide beer at the next SDN Path meet up - no matter when or where it is.

As I am not a connoisseur of beer, I trust many of you will feel free to provide him with suggestions.

As you were.

There is good news and there is bad news.

The good news is I will bring the beer. The bad news is the beer will be Old Milwaukee in cans.

Yes, if you were a conscientous reader of all posts you would note my post about this previously. 😛

I dunno if I will be there yet. My attending thinks the abstract we submitted might get a platform presentation so I guess that would mean I have to go. 😉

IAP I don't know.

fedor, if you don't start learning how to not request read receipts to your PMs sometime soon, I am going to start sending some your way. 😛

My Stage-3 OCD doesn't allow me not to request read receipts. There is no cure.

Apparently your Stage 3 OCD was cured in the last 2 minutes.
Yes, I expect a Nobel Prize for finding the cure. Don't worry, I won't forget the little people when I'm at the top.

I'm not on the awards committee, I'm afraid.

And I'm not worried. Are you calling me little?

What are read receipts? When I send a PM, I get that little message about requesting a read receipt. I guess I always say yes, but nothing ever happens from it.

PS Fedor, sorry I didn't write you back yet - I had my surgery test today.

Well, your recipient gets a little pop-up that says "beary has requested a read receipt - Confirm? Y/N"

Ooooh it's FRIDAY!!! And the end of Surgery 😀 Oh man, you should go out and celebrate!

Or, you can sit here and post on SDN 😀

Cool, how did you do?

The problem with the read receipt is that it seems like you have to request one, because the other option is "cancel." And some might interpret that as cancelling the PM. But it doesn't, it just cancels the read receipt. It's a flaw in the system, one that will no doubt be exploited by our future robot overlords.

I just bang wildly on the keyboard until the message goes. Read receipt or cancel, totally random.

Well, that's one way to go. 😉

I fail to see how this jibes with your prior statement about having OCD. 😛

Oh. I will not ask for any read receipts anymore. Sorry. 😳

I am SO SO SO happy!! I actually am going out tomorrow night, so am staying home tonight. But I am going to have a great time. I have ordered a pizza, am going to have something to drink, and watch this new TV show. I already took a 3 hour nap. 😎

It seemed to go ok - thanks! We don't take the shelf here and many of our questions were verbatim from the Lawrence book. We find out on Monday. But all I am looking for is a P. 🙂

Anyone else remember Lowenbrau?
Yes. Andy gives the L a big 👎

Someone mentioned San Diego for 2007 USCAP. That city is awesome! I think I'll try going to that one.

fedor, you can keep your cans of Old and Beast to yourself.
